Middlesex dinner & awards 2020

Middlesex Golf is once again seeking nominations for its annual awards, which will recognise, celebrate and reward individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to the sport.

The winners will be those who contribute within golf clubs, schools, county golf partnerships, training schemes or many other programmes. 

To nominate please complete the easy-to-follow nomination forms. The closing date is Friday 13th December 2019. The awards will be presented at the Middlesex Golf Annual Dinner on Saturday, 29th February 2020 at the Copthorne Tara Hotel, Kensington.

There are four different award categories which are for lifetime achievers and those who provide exceptional service, increase participation and club membership.

NOMINATION CRITERIA

CLUB OF THE YEAR

The Award will be made in recognition of activity carried out by the club or facility and its committee, volunteer coaches and PGA professional during the calendar year January to December 2019. The winning club will have shown its inspiring, forward-thinking approach to:

  • Providing a warm welcome and a fun and friendly environment for everyone
  • Understanding its market and attracting new players and members
  • Getting existing members playing more and making more use of the club
  • Enhancing coaching and playing opportunities for everyone
  • Playing a positive and growing role in the community
  • Having the correct policies and procedures in place

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

The winner will be a person whose commitment and contribution really raises the bar. The winner will be judged by their: 

  • Approach and personality
  • Activities and achievements
  • Ideas and innovations
  • Impact on your club/facility
  • Impact on the game of golf

To nominate please provide:

  • Name of person
  • Name of golf club where they are member, if applicable 
  • Please detail the roles they have undertaken (100 words)
  • Details of how the individual has made a significant difference to golf this could include the lives of players, members, visitors, staff and other volunteers (200 words)
  • Details of how this person has gone over and above what’s expected of them and demonstrated outstanding commitment and enthusiasm for their role as a volunteer (200 words)

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The winner will be a person who has made a remarkable contribution to the game of golf over many years and who clearly deserves wider recognition as the recipient of our Lifetime Achievement Award by explaining:

Tell us about your nominee.

  • Who they are and how long they've supported your club/facility/county
  • What they have done to help grow the game
  • How they've made a difference for volunteers and visitors
  • How they've helped your club/facility/county support players and members

CLUB STEWARD OF THE YEAR

This will be awarded to the individual who best demonstrates that he/she has a clear understanding of their role in securing a healthy future for their club. Please tell us how the individual:

  • Offers a friendly welcome to all, and how they are an integral part of why members come back to the club

The Middlesex Golf Annual Dinner will take place at the Copthorne Tara Hotel, Kensington and tickets cost £55 per person.
