          <div class="wysiwyg-editable"><p><strong>Welcome to the Seniors section of the Middlesex Golf website.</strong></p><p>Firstly, we actively seek and welcome golfers approaching or over 55 &nbsp;years of age who are members of clubs affiliated to Middlesex Golf&nbsp; (formerly MCGU) with an active handicap of 5 or less.</p><p>Each year starts with 10 or so coaching sessions for potential &nbsp;squad members at Northwick Park Golf center in the run up to the season. Fixtures run from May to October each year and details of the 2018 matches can be found on this website. All matches are played off scratch.</p><p>Team and squad selection is accomplished typically from monitoring player handicap trending (via the national central handicap data base), club and county competition matchplay successes, scores from all senior organisation competitions and feedback from coaching staff.</p><p>The main annual events are:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;The Seniors County Championship: &nbsp;a 36 hole event played over 2 days. &nbsp;(Players wishing to be considered for selection for the County Seniors Team should aim to play in this championship). Entry is via the MG website and currently restricted to players with a maximum handicap of 12.</p><p>South Eastern (SE) group events, which are: <br></p><p>1. Seniors League. Our annual opponents are BB&amp;O, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex. There are four league matches each year (two home/ two away) the format is 18 hole singles matchplay.</p><p>2. The SE region six man Qualifier. A 36 hole Strokeplay event held over two days. Comprising of a MG six man team, against the ten other counties of the South East region. The winning County (with the lowest aggregate score)&nbsp; represents our region in the English County Finals which is probably the most prestigious competition for County players and counties alike to be involved in.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>3. The SE region foursomes Qualifier. A four county foursomes &nbsp;matchplay&nbsp; tournament over one day,&nbsp; verses Kent, Essex and Herts. The Seniors County Championship is a 36 hole event played over 2 days. (Players wishing to be considered for selection for the County Seniors Team should play in this championship. Entry is via the MCGU website and is restricted to players with a maximum hadicap of 12)&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;2. The SE Seniors League. Our group opponents are BB&amp;amp;amp;O, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex. There are four league matches each year (two home two away) the format is 18 hole singles matchplay. &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp; &amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;3. The SE region six man Qualifier. This is a 36 hole Strokeplay event held over two days. Comprising of a 6-man team, against the ten other counties of the South East Region. The winning county then represents our region in the English County Finals, which is&amp;amp;nbsp;the most prestigious competition for county players and counties to be involved in.&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;4.&amp;amp;nbsp; The SE Region Foursomes Qualifier.               The main annual events are:
            &amp;amp;lt;/p&amp;amp;gt;
            &amp;amp;lt;p&amp;amp;gt;
              The Seniors County Championship is a 36 hole event played over 2 days. The event this year is being held at Sudbury GC on 28/29 of August.&amp;amp;nbsp; Players wishing to be considered for selection for the County Seniors Team should aim to play in this championship. Entry is via the MCGU website and is restricted to players with a maximum handicap of 12.
            &amp;amp;lt;/p&amp;amp;gt;
            &amp;amp;lt;p&amp;amp;gt;
              The County aim is to field the best possible Seniors team in all South Eastern (SE) group events, which are:
            &amp;amp;lt;/p&amp;amp;gt;
            &amp;amp;lt;p&amp;amp;gt;
              1, Seniors League. Our opponents are BB&amp;amp;amp;O, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex. There are four league matches each year (two home two away) the format is 18 hole singles matchplay.
            &amp;amp;lt;/p&amp;amp;gt;
            &amp;amp;lt;p&amp;amp;gt;
              &amp;amp;nbsp;2, The SE region six man Qualifier. This is a 36 hole Strokeplay event held over two days. Comprising of a 6-man team, against the ten other counties of the South East region. The event this year is at Thorpness GC on the 21/22 July.&amp;amp;nbsp; The winning County then represents our region in the English County Finals which is probably the most prestigious competition for County players and counties to be involved in.
            &amp;amp;lt;/p&amp;amp;gt;
            &amp;amp;lt;p&amp;amp;gt;
              3, The SE region foursomes Qualifier. A four county foursomes knock out over one day,&amp;amp;nbsp; verses Kent, Essex and Herts. Held this year at Mill Hill GC on the 19th of August.&amp;amp;nbsp; The winners of this also go on to further regional and national events.
