A dull and windy day although very soon the boys were playing in their shirtsleeves – youthful blood. With Team Manager Eamon Kneafsey recovering from an operation and rather disappointingly the majority of the established team playing in another competition optimism was not at its highest. Fortunately Beds as regards the players was in the same position. The new look team was Harry Casey, Niall Keogh, George Wyatt, Robbie Johnson, Josh Ramejkis, Ben Mignano, Alex Bowell and Jake Mildenhall (Fowler).

The morning foursomes were shared – top pair Harry / Niall won 6/4:  no 2 pair George / Robbie won 5/4: no 3 pair Josh / Ben lost 4/2 whilst the final pairing of Jake / Alex lost 2/1

Pm singles: leading out Harry cruised in 6/4. The last 3 matches all went Beds way with losses for Ben, George and Alex. Now as we know golf is over 18 holes and so it was proved as 4 games went down the last. No 2 Niall standing 1 down drove the green and was conceded his birdie to be a/s. No3 Josh all square was safely on the green for 2 and saw his opponent skinny his approach into an unplayable lie and won 1 up. No 4 Robbie all square played a delicate greenside bunker shot and holed his putt for a birdie to win 1 up. No 5 Jake was 1 up but found a watery grave with his drive - he took relief and left his approach 6 feet from the hole. He calmly holed his putt to remain 1 up.
