The Lorna Peters Memorial Trophy

The Lorna Peters Memorial Trophy is an annual event held at Highgate Golf Club where Lorna was a long standing member.

She did much to advance women's golf in England and in recognition of that contribution she was awarded an MBE. Jennifer Winn, a long standing friend of Lorna's gave a heartfelt speech about her at the lunch we had following the golf. In particular were her memories of her sheer determination to be a very good golfer in a male dominated sport, but equally her willingness and encouragement that she showed towards 36 handicappers at HGGC.

We had slightly less teams that entered this year, but those that played represented their clubs brilliantly and were enthusiastic competitors.

Many thanks to the staff at Highgate for looking after us so well, Will in the office and James and Joanna in the club house. Thank you to Amanda Salmon, ladies captain and her ladies for their help on the day. I was delighted that Angela Templeman, County Captain was able to join us to present the prizes.

The results.
