This week we had two sessions on chipping covering awkward lies (uphill/downhill), landing spots, opening the club face, adjusting the club shaft to create a different trajectory, lobbing over a badminton net like a “butterfly” (Charlie’s words, not mine), through gates etc. etc. And sometimes we have to be contortionists to get our uphill stances right!
Truly the sessions are so far are inspirational. It’s not so much that Charlie, the Pro is “teaching” us, but he’s enabling us to experiment with a far wider range of short game shots using the skills – good or bad - that we already have. He’s challenging our thought processes and introducing new techniques which hopefully will allow us to perform at a higher level in awkward situations.
Please see pictures attached; this time we were blessed with fine weather!
