Lorna Peters Memorial Trophy

The Lorna Peters Memorial Trophy is an annual event held at Highgate Golf Club where Lorna was a long standing member and then club President.

She did much to advance women's golf in England and in recognition of this she was awarded an MBE. Jennifer Winn, a great friend of Lorna's gave a really interesting and insightful talk about her. Ladies golf history brought to life.

We had a fabulous day. The weather was amazing and the ladies who played did so we great competitiveness and enjoyment. They were, to a team, a great credit to their clubs and I hope that many more will want to enter two teams next year.

Many thanks to the staff at Highgate for looking after us all so well-Will in the office and James in the clubhouse. Thank you to Michele Healy, our Lady Captain for kindly presenting the prizes and for organising her helpers.

And now to the results.

3rd place with 77 points was Muswell Hill represented by Irene Riley, Noreen Sullivan and May Cahill.

2nd Place with 77 points after count back was Bush Hill Park represented by Irene Dickinson, Lisa Martin and Sharon Saunders.

1st place with 79 points from Sudbury, for the second year running, represented once again by Carolyn Mathews, Heather Graydon and Felicity Lavelle. They are the team to beat!!

Many congratulations to you all.
