Silver Spring Meeting Report

The Silver Spring Meeting this year took place at Bush Hill Park Golf Club on Friday 17th May, sharing the day with the qualifying rounds of the County Championships and the inaugural Seniors Championship. This was the second major event of the year and unlike the Bronze Meeting two week's ago, the weather was kind to us.

There were 22 players playing individual Stableford in teams of three in the morning and a 9 hole team scramble in the afternoon, when everyone can relax and enjoy themselves. The course was in excellent condition, with the greens rolling perfectly.

Some fine golf was played, and the following players all took home prizes:

First Prize and winner of the Silver Spring Meeting, Cheng Loo from Pinner Hill with 39 points

Runner-up. Triveni Narayanswamy from Pinner Hill with 36 points

Third Place. Askale Daley from Pinner Hill with 32 points

Nearest the Pin: Hideko Owada (Sudbury)

Longest Drive: Triveni Narayanswamy (Pinner Hill)

Best Front 9: Ruth Holmes (Muswell Hill) 17 points

Best Back 9: Jackie Smith (Enfield) 18 points

The afternoon Scramble was won by the mixed team of

Irene Dickinson (Bush Hill Park)

Lucy Bidmead (Bush Hill Park)

Jane Oddi (Ealing)

with a score of 26 points.

Our thanks go to Graham, Head Greenkeeper and Sue, Ladies' Vice Captain and her Ladies for ensuring that the players were well looked after. Also to the catering team, led by Debbie, who waited on us all day and produced some lovely food.
