Senior Ladies Report

SENIOR LADIES LEAGUE MATCH vs Kent

@Enfield GC

Heroic victories by Bev Broad and Alice Arnold produced a respectable scoreline for Middlesex Senior Ladies against the Kent team, earlier this month.  Although we lost 2-4, Alice Arnold delivered a memorable win against the Kent team captain.  Bev Broad’s result was all the more extraordinary, given that she suffered a bad fall on one of the early holes but still managed to limp to victory!  Christine Tyler, Elaine Cole, Louise Morse and Ginny Goudy couldn’t quite prevail, even on two legs!

SENIOR LADIES at the InterCounty Championships

@Woburn GC

With a big boost to team morale provided by the news that Lulu Housman had won a place in the England team for the forthcoming international, Middlesex put in a very creditable performance at this prestigious event. Ten counties compete for this title, which this year was hosted by Buckinghamshire on the wonderful Dukes Course at Woburn.  Such a fabulous venue attracted a stellar field of single-figure golfers, including 4 international players.  Led out by our Number One, Lulu Housman, the Middlesex squad included Judith Williamson (one of the very few players to achieve net par), Ginny Goudy and Christine Tyler.  With the best 3 scores counting, Middlesex beat Buckinghamshire, Essex and Berkshire to achieve a very creditable 7th place.  Sussex took the trophy.
