The Middlesex first team had to once again come together against a tough BB&O side and in glorious sunshine at Frilford Heath, they came up short.
Leading the line again was Jack Neil. Jack came out and got the team off the best start with a 2&1 win. Liam Cella followed but was beaten 3&2. Will Orridge was unlucky not to win, as, during his match on a backswing, he caught a branch and was subsequently penalised a hole, but to overcome this as at one downplaying the last, got the team a half-point. Next to follow was Niall Keogh, who managed to beat his opponent 1 up.
With BB&O's solid team, Middlesex then found themselves coming up short with the remaining matches coming back. Michael Peak lost 4&3 followed up by Kane Stone losing 3&2. Justin Phelps came in defeated losing 5&4 and Danial Parsons also losing 4&2.
A week on from beating Bedfordshire and still early into the delayed golfing year, Middlesex lost overall 5.5 - 2.5. This was never the result that the team and hoped to get but it is not the end of the season. With two more games later in the season, Middlesex still has a chance of winning the South East Region league table. Before that, however, is the English South East Region competition in July. The players will all now return and play their own events and we hope as the season continues, the players can return ready for the following fixtures.
