Middlesex Golf
Due to a clash with an England Golf event and a neutral venue issue, the Gowland Salver and the Women's Foursomes KO were pushed back to October 17th and held at Bush Hill Park GC. These were combined with the Friern League Finals which made for a great atmosphere on the calm, and unseasonably balmy, morning as over 30 golfers take to the course.
The Gowland semi-finals were first off at 8 am, Niall Keogh Vs Ross Chard and Ian Ashenden Vs Robbie Lyon. These were followed by the Women's Foursomes KO semi-finalist at 8:20 am, Ealing GC 2 Vs Muswell Hill GC 2 and Muswell Hill GC 1 Vs Finchley GC 1.

In the men's Gowland Slaver, Niall Keogh won 5&4 and Ian Ashenden won 3&2 setting up a repeat of the Middlesex Men's County Championship Final! In the women's Foursomes KO, Muswell Hill's May Cahill sank a long putt on 18 to win 1up and Finchley GC won 3&2 to book their place in the final against the defending champions.
In the Friern League Finals, it was Enfield Oaks Vs Enfield Elms Vs Ealing GC in a three-way match-play final who each won their summer-long league.
Friern League Finals
It after 5 matches the match was extremely close with only one point in each match! But Zak Mundy sealed the deal for the Enfield Elms by winning 1.5 points from a possible two. The Enfield Oaks were runners up with 1 point and Ealing finished third with 0.5 points. The final results can be viewed HERE.
In the Gowland Salver final, Niall Keogh was up early and held his lead for most of the match. He was 2up through 12 but no lead is ever safe on the back 6 at BHPGC. Ian levelled the match with a chip-in birdie on the 16th and then the Niall found the water on 17 on his approach so Ian won 2&1.

The Women's Foursomes was back and forth all day with both pairings leading during the round. It all came down to the last hole where neither pairing could make the green in three, so it was all down to the short game. Muswell found the green with their approach while Finchley was just long. Finchley chipped down close and were hopeful for a play-off but May Cahill once again holed a long putt to win the match and defend her and Ines's title.
