Middlesex Golf Union
Welcome to the Men's Senior section of Middlesex Golf.
Firstly, we welcome golfers of 55 (or approaching 55) years of age or over, who are members of clubs affiliated to the Middlesex Golf with a handicap of 5 or less.
What follows is an overview of our annual activities:
We start each year with 10 or so coaching sessions for the squad at Northwick Park Golf Centre in the run up to the season. Fixtures run from May to October each year and details of the current events can be found on this website. All matches are played off scratch.
The main annual events are:
1. The Seniors County Championship is a 36 hole event played over 2 days. (Players wishing to be considered for selection for the County Seniors Team should play in this championship. Entry is via the MCGU website and is restricted to players with a maximum hadicap of 12)
2. The SE Seniors League. Our group opponents are BB&O, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex. There are four league matches each year (two home two away) the format is 18 hole singles matchplay.
3. The SE region six man Qualifier. This is a 36 hole Strokeplay event held over two days. Comprising of a 6-man team, against the ten other counties of the South East Region. The winning county then represents our region in the English County Finals, which is the most prestigious competition for county players and counties to be involved in.
4. The SE Region Foursomes Qualifier. A four county foursomes knock out over one day verses Kent, Essex and Herts. (The overall winners also go on to further regional and national events).
