Annual Dinner & Awards

The Middlesex Golf Annual Dinner will take place at Northwood Golf Club and tickets cost £49 per person. Tickets include a three-course dinner with wine plus entertainment.

Nominations

Middlesex Golf is seeking nominations for its Annual Awards, which will recognise, celebrate and reward individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to the sport.

The winners will be those who contribute to golf clubs, schools, county golf partnerships, training schemes or many other programmes. 

To nominate please complete the easy-to-follow nomination forms. The closing date is Monday 30th January 2023. The awards will be presented at the Middlesex Golf Annual Dinner on Saturday, 04th March 2023 at Northwood Golf Club.

There are three different award categories for those who promote, administer, encourage the development of, widen the participation in and further the interest of Amateur Golf within the County.

club of the year

This Award recognises activity carried out by the Club or Facility and its Committee, Volunteer Coaches and PGA Professionals during 2022. The winning club will have shown its inspiring, forward-thinking approach in areas such as:

  • Providing a warm welcome and a fun and friendly environment for everyone
  • Understanding its market and attracting new players and members
  • Getting existing members to play more and making more use of the club
  • Enhancing coaching and playing opportunities for everyone
  • Playing a positive and growing role in the community
  • Having the correct policies and procedures in place

volunteer of the year

The winner will be a volunteer who has had exceptional commitment and contribution to their Club or Golf in their Community during  2022.  A volunteer at your club may be a committee member, club/section captain, artisan/course volunteer, volunteer for the county or England, or junior organiser. The winner will be judged by their: 

  • Approach and personality
  • Activities and achievements
  • Ideas and innovations
  • Impact on your club/facility
  • Impact on the game of golf

To nominate please provide the following:

  • Name of person
  • Name of the golf club where they are a member, if applicable 
  • Please detail the roles they have undertaken (up to 100 words)
  • Details of how the individual has made a significant difference to golf could include the lives of players, members, visitors, staff and other volunteers (up to 200 words)
  • Details of how this person has gone over and above what’s expected of them and demonstrated outstanding commitment and enthusiasm for their role as a volunteer (up to 200 words)

personality of the year

This will be awarded to an employee, who has demonstrated during 2022, that he/she is devoted to ensuring that their club is a vibrant, welcoming, and enjoyable place to be a member and play golf. 

This person could be your professional, general manager, office staff, greenkeeper, maintenance, steward, caterer, etc. It can be any employee at your club! Please tell us how the individual:

  • How they are an integral part of why members come back to the club.
  • Make your club an enjoyable place to spend time
  • Creates a welcoming environment at your club for all members and visitors
  • Works hard to ensure that your club gets better year after year
